Developer Terms of Service

The agreement between you (the developer) and MRBD governing your use of the MRBD SDK, CLI, developer portal, tunnelling, and managed authentication.

These Developer Terms of Service (the "Terms") are a binding agreement between you, or the entity you represent ("Developer", "you"), and MRBD ("MRBD", "we", "us"). They govern your access to and use of the MRBD developer platform, including the SDK and CLI, the developer portal, the tunnelling service, and the managed authentication broker (collectively, the "Platform").

By creating an account, registering an application, or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Data Processing Addendum. If you are accepting on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization.

1. The Platform and managed authentication

The Platform lets you build applications for Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses and similar wearables. It includes a managed authentication broker that runs sign-in flows (device pairing and email one-time passcodes) on your behalf using our managed Supabase infrastructure.

When you use managed authentication, MRBD collects and processes end-user information (such as email addresses and authentication metadata) on your behalf and in order to operate the service. The respective roles and responsibilities of the parties for that processing are described in the Data Processing Addendum.

2. Accounts and registered applications

You must provide accurate information when you register and keep it current. You are responsible for all activity under your account and for safeguarding your credentials, app identifiers, device secrets, and tokens.

Each application you register must accurately describe its publisher, allowed origins, and intended use. You must keep your allowed origins limited to domains you control.

3. Your obligations to end users

Because your application authenticates real people through MRBD, you have direct obligations to those end users:

  • You must publish a privacy policy that accurately describes how your application collects, uses, shares, and retains end-user data, including data processed through MRBD managed authentication. If you do not supply your own, you authorize MRBD to host a generated privacy policy for your application on your behalf.
  • You must obtain any consents required by applicable law before directing end users into an MRBD authentication flow.
  • You must honor end-user rights requests (access, deletion, correction, and similar) for data you control, and cooperate with MRBD where a request concerns data processed through the Platform.
  • You must not use the Platform to authenticate users for any unlawful, deceptive, or harmful application, or in violation of the Acceptable Use Policy.

You are the controller of end-user personal data collected through your application. MRBD acts as your processor for managed authentication, as set out in the Data Processing Addendum.

4. Acceptable use

Your use of the Platform is subject to the Acceptable Use Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms. We may suspend or disable an application or account that we reasonably believe violates these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, or that poses a security or legal risk.

5. Intellectual property and license

Subject to these Terms, MRBD grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the SDK, CLI, and Platform to build and operate your applications. MRBD retains all rights in the Platform that are not expressly granted.

You retain all rights in your applications and content. You grant MRBD the limited rights necessary to operate the Platform, including to display your application's listing and to process data on your behalf.

6. Fees and changes to the service

The Platform may be offered free of charge or under a paid plan. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features, and we may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated through the portal or by email, and your continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MRBD will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising out of or related to your use of the Platform.

8. Indemnification

You will defend and indemnify MRBD against claims arising from your application, your content, your use of the Platform, or your failure to meet your obligations to end users or under applicable law.

9. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Platform at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms, legal risk, or security reasons. Upon termination, your license ends and we may disable your registered applications.
